18 Aug REDtone’s CEO, CFO to play more active role in day-to-day ops
REDtone International Bhd says its chief executive officer Lau Bik Soon and chief financial officer Lau Hock Chye will take on a more active role in the group’s daily operations.
Its managing director Datuk Wei Chuan Beng, meanwhile, will continue to focus on strategic matters to create, maintain and deliver sustainable shareholder value.
In a statement today, Wei said Bik Soon’s discipline and skilled leadership have guided the company through various challenges.
Bik Soon has been with the group for 10 years and sits on the group’s board of directors.
“He also spearheaded the development of the group’s managed telecommunications network services (MTNS) which is now its key revenue generator and an area which has great growth potential,” said Wei.
REDtone said it had the ability to continuously adapt to a changing market environment and a dynamic and competitive industry that was key to its growth since 1996.
It has gone through four business transformations since its formation, with its core being telecommunications, said REDtone, which is celebrating two decades of establishment this year.
REDtone focuses on infrastructure-light and capex-light. Backed by its research and development capabilities, it designs service packages and leverages on any available infrastructure to deliver innovative and cost-effective solutions business and government agencies.
REDtone’s share price closed up 1.5 sen or 3.85% to 40.5 sen, for a market capitalisation of RM306.6 million.
